Frequently Asked Questions
What does a naked butler do?
The same as a regular butler, except with a lot less clothing! They can do whatever you would like them to do (within reason!) including serving food and drink, playing party games, chatting to guests or even helping with the washing up! All our butlers are chosen for their charisma and charming natures, so whether you just want a bit of eye candy or someone to join in with the fun and games, we guarantee you will not be disappointed.
Please note – We provide aesthetically pleasing men for hire as waiters and entertainers NOT as an act or set performance. They are there to be instructed by you in order to best meet the needs and requirements of your event and are to be briefed accordingly on arrival. So whilst they are more than happy to get involved in entertainment, under your instruction, such as playing games they’re not performers and don’t perform a set act. Finally Hunks in Trunks DO NOT supply strippers or any similar form of adult entertainment. We are a premium brand who work hard to maintain a level of sophisticated, yet cheeky fun!
What does the butler wear?
The standard attire for our naked butlers is a bow tie, collar, cuffs and our signature red trunks or apron (choice available, just let your butler know which you’d prefer). Fancy dress/costume must be purchased/supplied by yourselves, please contact us for information regarding this.
Can I choose my butler?
Due to the large number of butlers that we have to assign to events each week we are not able to provide you with a selection of butlers to choose from – in order to give you the best price we possibly can, we will always allocate butlers in order of proximity to your event address.
Please rest assured that all of our hunks undergo a strict recruitment process and only the best make it through! If you would like to see photos of the butlers that we have working for us, you can visit our gallery or our Facebook page where we have lots of up to date photos from happy clients!
However, by all means if there is a specific look you are after then just let us know, we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Can I see a photo of my butler?
We appreciate that you will be very excited to see/know who you have booked for your event and we can indeed send you a picture. Although the events team start the process of booking your butler in 12 weeks prior, which is the earliest our butlers are required to confirm their availability, changes can occur in this period.
Therefore, if you would like a photo we would suggest emailing 1 week prior to your event, when we will be able to confirm exactly who is coming to you! If for any reason you are not happy with your butler then, if availability allows, we will endeavour to find you a replacement but we cannot guarantee this.
Please be aware that companies promising you a specific butler from the outset don’t always deliver – we have heard many horror stories from clients who were in for a shock when the butler who showed up didn’t quite match the photo they were given!
Can my butler make cocktails?
Yes! Your butler can make cocktails for you, however our butlers are not required to be able to make cocktails from memory. So if you would like the butlers to make up some cocktails for you at your event just make sure to provide all the necessary drink and tools and also provide some basic cocktail cards/instructions for them to follow. Wikipedia is a great place to get these from so an iPad with wireless access works brilliantly for this eg. Margarita, Appletini, Mojito and Cosmopolitan recipes
How do I Pay?
The easiest way to pay is by using our Quick Quote Booking Tool. For more information on how to use this click here…
Try Our Quick Quote Booking ToolPayment is taken upfront via credit or debit card (or by bacs if an invoice is requested) – we take a £30 deposit to hold the date of your booking, and the remainder should be paid no later than two weeks prior to your event date.
As we are a fully registered and limited company, we are unable to take cash – please be aware that any company that allows you to do this is doing it for tax avoidance purposes, which means that not only are they probably not a company at all, but you are very unlikely to be protected should anything go wrong with your booking.
The methods of payment we accept are as follows:
Quick Quote Booking Tool – This is our standard method of taking payment. Once you have requested a quote using the tool your quote will be displayed for you. If you are not in a position to book or make payment at that time then you will also be sent an email containing your quote and a unique quote ID. You can use the link in this email to complete and confirm your booking at any stage. If you have any problems just call our team and they can complete this for you.
Phone Payment – You can also pay over the phone by Credit/Debit card. Simply call 0330 111 75 79 and select the payment option.
Invoice and Bank Transfer – If you prefer, you can choose to have an invoice emailed to you so you can make payment via an online bank transfer or in branch deposit.
I’ve paid, now what happens?
Once we’ve confirmed full payment from you, we will compile all of your event details including your contact number onto a job sheet which will be sent to the butler before the date of your booking. Most of our butlers like to contact you earlier on the day of your booking just to introduce themselves and give you their number, but please don’t panic if you haven’t heard from them! They will always aim to arrive 15 minutes before the start time of your event – this gives them time to give you a call so that you can advise them on how to sneak in if they are a surprise, find them somewhere to change and give them a quick brief of what you would like them to do.
The Hunks are aware that they are usually booked as a surprise so you don’t have to worry about them pulling up to the front of the house and ringing the doorbell!
What happens if my butler doesn’t show up?
Since we began in 2008, we have booked over 7500 butlers for jobs – we can proudly say that we are able to count on one hand the number of butlers that have ever been unable to attend a job. We pride ourselves on our strict recruitment of only the hunkiest, most hardworking and reliable butlers who understand, as we do, that your special event is of the utmost importance.
In the unlikely event that we should have an issue with your booking we will always inform you as soon as possible, allowing you to make adjustments for a different time or butler if necessary. If for any reason a butler is not provided for your event, we will of course issue you a full refund at the very least.
Can my butler cook for me?
Not officially no. We provide a unique catering service (Naked Chef Service) for anyone looking to be provided with breakfast, lunch or dinner, which comes with a butler service included. The chefs we provide are fully qualified and have all the necessary hygiene certification and most importantly have full public liability insurance and are covered by Hunks in Trunks (or our company Buttlers Entertainment Ltd).
Our butlers are not professional chefs and don’t have these qualifications so legally we can’t sell the butler service as a cooking service. However as long as you are aware of this then when the butler arrives you are free to instruct him to do as you wish, so if that includes helping you in the kitchen or watching over a bbq then he must do as you command! But you must accept personal responsibility for the food that is being cooked.
The Naked Chef Service – Are the chefs really naked?
No… The chefs we provide are fully trained, experienced and professional event chefs and unfortunately most chefs are best with their clothes on! More importantly however is that from an insurance stand point, a naked man in front of a cooker has its problems.
The name is in reference to the fact that with this service you are provided with naked butlers who will deliver more than enough nakedness for your event.
