Our Hunks in Trunks naked butler service were the subject of an international news story on 16th October, 2018 following a visit to the Milton Lodge care home in Colchester.

The care home, Milton Lodge, runs a ‘wishes of residents’ scheme called the Sparkle initiative, where staff raise money to grant the wishes of residents. One of the ladies wish to spend some time with a man so the care home team went one step further and hired the Hunks in Trunks, who served them up a three-course meal.

Claire Martin, activities co-ordinator at Milton Lodge, said it was 89-year-old Joan Corp who had initiated it all.

She said: “Whenever you ask Joan what she wants that day she always says ‘a man’.

“So we weren’t surprised when she wanted it to be her wish.

“We had a chat here and everyone was really keen to support it.

“We had a look online and found a company called Hunks in Trunks.

“When they turned up we had to let them know what we wanted them to do. They had a three-course meal with a roast dinner. The ladies’ daughters and granddaughters came.

“We asked them to do some harmless flirting, it doesn’t matter how old you are, so why not?”

The eldest lady was the “very cheeky” 99-year-old Doll Jenkins.

Claire said: “The ladies were really excited, they had all been giggling and they dressed up.”

The ladies were even treated to some relaxing therapy.

Claire added: “They all had a massage, the butlers went around asking the ladies if they wanted a massage and they all said yes.

“After it had all finished, Doll told the staff she wanted them back for her 100th birthday, so we are going to have them back.

“They didn’t stop laughing the whole night, they absolutely loved it.”

The story was covered by various news outlets as well as the TV shows Loose Women and This Morning. The segments were subject to debate, criticism and complaint on social media being dubbed ‘sexist’ and ‘double standards’.

The story and debate were covered extensively in the UK by outlets including Metro, the Daily Mirror, LADbible, The Sun, BuzzFeed, ITV and the Daily Record.

The story was also covered internationally including in Australia, Asia and across the Americas.

All in all the story was covered in over 100 publications across the world and shared millions of times across social media!
